Dive into the Splash Zone: Shark Tank Bangladesh Episode 3 Recap

Ahoy, fellow entrepreneurs and enthusiasts! Episode 3 of Shark Tank Bangladesh hit the screens this weekend, and boy, did it bring the heat! We witnessed the debut of three new sharks, Sausan and Faatin, adding a refreshing splash of diversity to the tank. And let’s not forget about Kazi, stepping into the arena with his stellar resume. But more on that later.

Now, let’s dive right into the tank and explore the latest ventures seeking to make waves:

English Champ:
First up, we had English Champ, determined to make a splash in the education sector. With a captivating pitch and a noble cause, they had the sharks hooked from the start. The sharks were impressed by their vision but had some reservations about the valuation. After some fantastic negotiations, a deal was struck, making waves with an investment of 20 lacs BDT for an 18% equity stake.

Egi Bazar:
Next in the tank was Egi Bazar, aiming to alleviate hunger and empower communities. While the sharks admired the noble mission, concerns about the business model led them to opt-out. Nevertheless, Sami pledged support by connecting the entrepreneur with opportunities for government grants, ensuring the noble cause stays afloat.

Parkway Furniture:
Making a stylish entrance, Parkway Furniture showcased its trendy yet affordable designs. With quality at the forefront, the sharks were intrigued. After a collaborative effort from Sausan and Faatin, Parkway secured a deal of 30 lacs BDT for an 18% stake, along with additional perks to elevate their journey.

Ostad:
Ostad, with its innovative Edtech platform, impressed the sharks despite a steep valuation. Intense negotiations led to a groundbreaking deal—the largest investment in Shark Tank Bangladesh history. Investors will receive 6% equity for a 1 crore investment. Each investor will get a share from 1.52%, with the remaining 4.48% distributed proportionally among them as advisory shares: Sami Ahmed (2%), Fahim Mashroor (2%), and Kazi Mahboob (2%).

And there you have it, folks! Episode 3 left us on the edge of our seats, eager to see these ventures flourish. Head over to Bongo to catch all the action and witness the entrepreneurial spirit in full swing. Until next time, keep swimming against the current and making waves of your own!

Next up, a chap rambles about delivering groceries within…wait for it…5k! Is it just another regular grocery shindig or have they got an ace up their sleeve? Let’s not read too much between the aisles till we see them in action.

‘English Champ’ jogged some memories – an online linguistic guru, offering their courses to working folks and wee students. Striving to Englishify Bangladesh, I see! Got a chuckle when the founder tried to wrangle his girlfriend into signing up. Their game seems to be: turn everyone and their grandmas into customers! Loved the scene with Sami Ahmed and a mini entrepreneur – can’t wait to see what this kid’s got cooking.

Sit tight, pop some corn, and ‘Tank’ on!

Hustle, Prints & All the Cat Cuddles – Meet the Stick-On Gang!

Whew! Can we just take a breather and appreciate how these cool kids have rewritten the graduate handbook? No 9-to-5 cubicle life for them; they’ve jumped right into the rollercoaster of entrepreneurship. Meet the fresh-faced trio behind Stick-On – a print-on-demand company they bootstrapped right out after university. I mean, who can resist creating jobs while the rest are busy looking for one? Go get ’em, boys!

They’re the driven kind, you know? Two of them come from business families (so yeah, discount on entrepreneurship genes, aye?), and the third one’s from a lineage of artists. They enjoy injecting their jazz into chaotic situations, and well, isn’t that what every successful venture capitalist dream of? Hats off to these kiddos, making the hustle look Instagram-worthy.

One of them tugged at my heartstrings, confessing about his harsh financial realities at the age of 18. Remember when the only struggle at 18 was updating your MySpace profile song? Yeah, that’s a reality check! But hey, that’s how diamonds are made under pressure, right?

Now, drum roll, please! The star of the Stick-On squad, the glue that holds them together in tough times… Kiyo! No, Kiyo isn’t their CFO or VP Marketing – Kiyo is their fur-ball of cuteness, their adorable kitten. Seriously, can we make Kiyo the unofficial mascot or something? Just can’t get enough of that fuzzball cutie!

Our dynamic trio, with a cat in tow, are now shark hunting (Not literally, PETA!). They’re on the lookout for mentors to give their big dreams an even bigger push. They’re keen on learning directly from these sharks who have swum through torrential entrepreneurial seas. Can’t wait to see how they fare and fingers crossed we get to see Kiyo pitching – as a bonus! ‘Unlikely,’ you think? Well, watch the space!

Shark Tank Bangladesh Episode 2 – A Sharky Sequel Sporting New Sharks, Impressive Deals, and Rising Tides

Hey out there, fellow Shark Tank enthusiasts! I’ll cut right to the chase – did Shark Tank Bangladesh Episode 2 top the premiere? In the immortal words of Chef Emeril: BAM! It kicked it up a notch! So ditch your paddle boards, because this tidal wave is ready to sweep you off your feet!

New Shark on the Block: Samanzar Khan

First up, meet our newest shark, Samanzar Khan. Spoiler Alert: She’s flippin’ fabulous! From her wise-cracking asides to her no-nonsense barbs, this new shark in the tank brought a tsunami of talent to the table. Move over, Jaws – there’s a new shark making waves.

Estilo’s Grand Entrance

Hola amigos! Enter Estilo, dazzling us with their mission to spiffy us up with bespoke leather goods. Offer on the table? A hefty 45 lacs for 13.5% stake. With three years in the biz and 1 crore in revenue, they’ve got the financial sizzle. But do they have the steak to impress our sharks? Turns out, having a customer-led platform that designs true bespoke really wooed our sharks. Well, not quite all of them…

Our darling Samanzar thought these guys were whistling past the women consumers (tut-tut). And calling their products premium and affordable – what’s up with that? Queen Samanzar was not impressed. Two of our sharks sank their teeth in, low-balled a bit, but after some haggling, Estilo managed to walk out with 15 lacs in cash, 10 lacs as an interest-free loan and 20 lacs of technical & advertising support, all in exchange for a 20% equity stake in their venture, and the sweet deal was from Golam and Farhan. Not too shabby, lads!

Shothik AI’s Tech Tide

Next up, meet the tech whizz-kids behind Shothik AI! These bright sparks are building a generative AI writing platform, with Bangla grammar and text writing solutions. Their opening act? A delightful rendition of a famous Bangla song! (Kudos for showing some heart, buds!)

But let’s spill some tea here. Is Shothik AI the AI savants they claim to be? Two words: Hot. Mess. From questionable business models to the absence of a clearly defined vision, Shothik AI’s pitch sailed into stormy waters. Looks like they’re finding out the hard way that it’s not all smooth sailing in tech world.

Stick-On!’s Print Prudence

Our third contestant, Stick-On!, claims the title of personalized phone cover pioneers. Their ask? 15 lacs for 13% stake. Too big a bite? Maybe, but there’s more to our dear Stick-On! These college graduates have hustled their way using the family trade.

Samanzar, our eagle-eyed shark, smelt something fishy. Stick-On!’s “unique selling point” seemed a bit, well, generic. But after surviving a shark feeding frenzy, these young prodigies managed to snag a deal from Fahim and Golam!

The deal they receive Oh boy, did our friends over at Stick-On strike gold or what? They’ve landed themselves a sweet deal with 15 big ones, and to clarify, we’re talking lacs, not candies! Their lucky pot is filled with an invigorating cash investment, and they’re handing over only 20% of their pie. Not a bad trade-off if you ask me, having your cake and eating it too or in their case perhaps, their stick and stick it too? But the catch is they pay back 5 lacs in 18 months through royalty to our sharks. Still a gem of a deal.

PulseTech’s Engaging Endeavor

Finally, we have PulseTech, sporting an innovative wholesale e-commerce model for pharmacies. They offer everything from inventory management to delivery logistics. Aaaand, they’ve already got 4000 pharmacies on board! Whoa!

But, does their Jack of All Trades model have what it takes to captivate our sharks? Turns out, YES! They sailed away with a groundbreaking deal of 30 lacs for 5% equity stake from Samanzar. And here’s the plot twist; repay the 30 lacs within 12 months, and see the equity stake slashed down to 1%! Now, that’s a whale of a deal!

So, gear up, my fine finned friends, because Shark Tank Bangladesh Episode 2 served up a whole lot of fish in the sea and left us gasping for more. Tighten your life vests, cause the water’s only going to get choppier from here!

Watch the Shark Tank Bangladesh Episode 2 on Bongo for free, thank me later.
